The short version: we collect what you give us so we can quote and do your electrical work, we store it with a small number of well-known providers, we do not sell it, and you can ask to see or delete it at any time.
Spark-E Unlimited Electrical Inc. (“we”, “us”) is a licensed electrical contractor (ECRA/ESA #7017645) serving Ottawa, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, where it goes, and what you can do about it. It applies to sparkeunlimited.ca only.
When you send the contact form, we collect what you type: your name, phone number and email address, the service you are asking about and your message. You may also give us your property type, company name, street address, city, postal code, timeline, budget range and how you heard about us. We use all of it for one purpose: to understand the work you need and to reply with a quote or arrange a site visit.
Photos. You can attach up to six photos of the work (a panel, a room, an outdoor wall). They help us quote accurately without a first visit. Please do not include people or documents in them.
When you call or text the number on this site, your phone carrier handles that call; we see your number the way anyone you call does.
Automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records the IP address and browser type of each request in server logs, and we use those logs to keep the site running and to block abuse. The contact form also records how long the form was open before it was sent, which is how we tell people from spam scripts.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages people read, and learn whether they call us or use the form. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google a pseudonymous identifier, the pages you view, your approximate location (city level), and your device and browser type. It does not receive your name, your phone number, your email, your message or your photos. Google processes this data in the United States under its own privacy policy.
To opt out, use a browser that blocks third-party trackers or install Google’s opt-out add-on. The site works exactly the same without analytics.
We do not sell or rent personal information. It goes to these service providers, each of which handles it only to provide its service to us:
Some of these providers are outside Canada, which means your information may be subject to the laws of those countries while it is there.
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent to our using it, subject to legal or contractual limits. You can also ask us to delete your record and photos. Email quotes@sparkeunlimited.ca or call (343) 596-6337; we answer within thirty days, usually much sooner.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are checked and rate-limited on the server before anything is stored. Photos go directly from your browser to encrypted storage using a one-time upload permission that expires in minutes. Access to our CRM and cloud accounts is limited to the business owner. No method is perfect; if we ever learn of a breach affecting your information we will tell you.
This site is for adults arranging electrical work. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
When this policy changes, the effective date shown at the top and bottom of this page changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page for a period after they take effect.
